Role: Architect & interiors from concept to completion
The family's brief was for a new open plan Kitchen, Living and Dining space. The glazed side infill floods light into the house, creating bright, naturally lit living spaces deep into the plan of the house. The rear elevation was extended, and large sliding doors added to open the kitchen onto the garden. The existing kitchen was turned into a utility and WC block, and lined in ply in order to integrate it into the new timber Kitchen fittings. The first floor bathroom and WC have been reconfigured to one larger bathroom.
“Everybody wants natural light in their house and Tom and Charlie's innovative use of glass feels like they've brought the sky into our home. The glass doors and roof means that not only is the kitchen full of light but it streams into the other rooms through clever full-height pocket doors. We never thought to ask for a kitchen extension with a view of the sunset but that is what was delivered.” Sarah and Ben
